profile
fjnland is a place of longing for intelligent communication. Our aim is to make brands more believable and more tangible. From the big picture down to the smallest detail. Before we design and build, we uncover what a brand stands for and what it has to tell. With our slogan "Form follows Narration" we want to underline that aesthetics and design are never an end in themselves. They serve what is meant to be told. Design becomes the visible translation of a brand's stance.
We work with mid-sized companies, cultural institutions, municipalities and organisations that see their brand not as decoration, but as a foundation. More important than the sector is the stance: people who believe in a better future and see their company as a chance to shape it. People who think along, can sit with questions, and value quality. Partners who want to share curiosity, openness and trust with us.

Felix is the visual backbone of fjnland. Trained media designer, designer by degree, raised between offset press and Pantone fan. His eye is pragmatic, his standard high. Whether brands, print or interfaces: where others think for a long time, Felix sees paths in design by instinct.
Hannes is the conscience and soul of fjnland. He holds projects, people and contexts together. A career-changer with a feel for context that can't be rushed, he digs deep before he designs. From loose ends he makes one shared aim. Reliable, curious, with staying power.
Nico is founder, creative director and design engineer in one. He thinks in systems, designs from stance, and asks why first. His standard: substance over attention, aesthetics over effect, meaning over speed. Where others chase trends, Nico builds structures that last.
Leon fills static ideas with life. Trained as a media designer, studied as a communication designer, at home between After Effects, Blender and Framer. New tools, new techniques, new trends: that is where he feels at home. When a design should move, Leon takes over.
Capabilities
Brand Strategy
Consistency comes from clarity. Together with our clients we work out the solid ground of their brand. With a clear hold on values, vision and position, decisions get easier, communication lands, and the brand is recognisable as what it is. Brand strategy not as an end in itself, but as the foundation.
Brand Design
Strategy needs a face that speaks your brand's character. We don't treat design as decoration, but as a visual translation of values and stance. With type, colour, space and rhythm we build an identity that tells the character, creates resonance, and earns trust.
Brand Communication
What a brand says, on which channel, in which form, decides how it's seen. Instead of splitting brand communication into isolated touchpoints, we build coherent brand worlds that hold together across campaigns, publications and social media.
Brand Experiences
How something looks builds trust, and gives a brand's story its visual voice. The design of a shop or an app is never an end in itself. It's often the first time someone meets the brand. We design digital products that fit the brand and express its stance.
Industries
Tourism & Taste
People want to recognise themselves, belong, feel something. Whether they're picking a place to go, pouring a glass, or finding a room. In a world full of images, feeling decides, not argument. We make brands for regions, travel, breweries, wineries and makers that spark that feeling, and give it a form that stays.
Health & Medicine
Trust can't be advertised. It has to be visible. What holds a company, a clinic or a practice together is the need to be understood at the right moment. We make brands and digital tools for people who work with responsibility, and want to be seen with a stance.
Cities & Politics
There is a moment when a plan becomes a change, and when people decide whether to come along. That's where we work. Brands and campaigns for transformation, funding, political work in cities, districts, regions. Often it starts with one project. Sometimes it becomes the brand of a whole region.
Trade & Craft
Best quality, fair prices, good service. Everyone in trade and craft says that. What actually sets one workshop apart from the next often stays unsaid. We make identities and digital homes for owner-led businesses and craft that show that: not what everyone claims, but what you actually are. Substance, turned into a brand you can recognise.
Institutions & Non-profit
We make brands and communication for associations, foundations and social organisations that need trust, spark involvement, and make a good cause audible. Together we find the story between organisation, brief and the people you want to reach, and we give it a form that holds.
Arts & Culture
We shape brands and digital experience spaces for museums, memorials and cultural institutions that build identification, open perspectives and create access. Together with our clients we work out the connecting narrative between institution, content and audience - and translate it into design.
