Projects
As a design studio in Würzburg we make digital products that make a brand real to use, and that people actually like using. With precision, experience, and the courage to keep iterating. We see ourselves as craftspeople who know their tools, from animation to punctuation. Good product design comes from an eye for the whole, with care for the detail.
Common questions
What does a website cost at fjnland?
It depends heavily on scope. A prototype of a digital product sits differently than a full UI/UX concept with development. What your digital project actually needs, what technical conditions follow, and what that means for your budget, we clarify in the free first conversation. What you can think about now: what's the aim of the application, which functions you want, and whether we should also build it. As a guide: a simple website starts in the lower five-figure range. More complex applications with heavy information architecture, a CMS, connections to other databases, and build-out can easily pass a six-figure sum.
When do I need professional UI/UX design?
Many think UI/UX design only pays off on large development projects. It counts whenever a surface influences a decision. Buy or leave. Understand or quit. Trust or hesitate. We help you see whether your product has a structure problem, a style problem, or a brand problem. Those are not the same. Talk to us and show us the digital idea.
How does a product design process run at fjnland, and can you develop product and brand in parallel?
This question often comes up when time is tight. Product and brand rarely grow cleanly one after the other. They need a shared strategic and visual ground, then a lot can run in parallel. Our process starts with a shared understanding: what should the digital product do, for whom, in which context? Then concept and content structure. First visual drafts and the prototype need your brand's design principles, which we carry into the digital and onto the application taking shape. It's also normal that designing a digital product influences single elements of a corporate design. Decisions flow into each other. That saves loops, and makes a more coherent whole.
Do you only deliver the design, or do you also accompany the implementation?
We see ourselves as a partner, whether it's your brand, your website or the draft of your app. We build ourselves, with React/Next.js, Framer, WordPress and headless CMS. If you have a development studio or an internal team, we hand over clean, documented designs and stay available for questions. Whichever path you choose, if you want, we stay with the build through launch and after. The difference from a pure development studio: technical feasibility matters to us, and we keep the stance of your brand in view, so the digital product belongs to the brand, consistently.
Does fjnland also do product design for physical products, or only digital?
We hear this more often, especially from brands who meet us through a digital product we designed. We design both. Apps, websites and digital applications, as well as packaging, product appearances and 3D visuals for physical products. What connects both worlds: the product is always a point of contact between a person and a brand, on a screen or on a shelf.
What do you need from us so that product design with fjnland works well?
What matters most: a clear aim, honest feedback, and the right people at the table. We need access to what you know. Audiences, market, what you've already learned. A small core team on your side who can decide is also helpful, and the courage to question what's already there. The more openly we talk about aims, limits and doubts, the better the product at the end.
