How does a collaboration with you work?
We start with a free first conversation, see if the chemistry is there, and set the main points of working together. Depending on what you need, we work in cycles, recurring windows for ongoing tasks, or in sprints, with full focus on one defined problem and a clear timetable. Whether a timed project or an iterative process, it always begins with you, your vision and your context. Only once we understand what it's really about do we start to design, and look for answers that come from an idea. We don't see ourselves as just a supplier. We're a partner. Trust, transparency and fairness matter, so all talk runs through Basecamp. You know where we stand, and you always speak with the people actually working on your brand.
What does “Form follows Narration” mean?
Before we design a logo or build a website, we uncover what a brand stands for and what it has to tell. With our slogan Form follows Narration we underline that aesthetics and design are never an end in themselves. They serve what needs to be told. Design becomes the visible translation of the brand's stance.
Do you work across Germany?
Yes, and gladly beyond. Würzburg is our home base, where the team comes together. Clients and partnerships we find across Germany: from the Alte Pinakothek in Munich to the Jewish Museum Berlin. From the centre of the country we can hold workshops in the Bürgerbräu, or at yours. Most of the day-to-day runs digitally anyway. As a client you get access to your own dashboard. Where is fjnland, and how do I find you?
We're on the Bürgerbräu grounds in Würzburg's Zellerau: Frankfurter Straße 87, Building 13 in the old Picherei, last building on the way out toward Zell. Easiest: start at the Central cinema, walk toward the roundabout, up the stone steps, then along the gravel to the steel stairs. You're at the right stairs when you see a large poppy in front of them. Tell us you're coming. The coffee will be on.
