Tourism & Taste
Challenges
Tourism and taste live from the lived moment, not from the data sheet. Who doesn't reach the gut stays invisible, no matter how good the offer is. We turn what makes a brand particular into a feeling people choose.
Interchangeable offer. Little identification.
Shelf, travel portal or search result: your offer always sits next to many similar ones. The product alone no longer decides. The choice falls for what a brand stands for. We make visible what makes you unmistakable.
Many touchpoints. No thread.
A brand meets its audience today in dozens of places. Feed, website, packaging, on site. Too often it looks a little different in each, and therefore fully nowhere. We build brand systems that carry the same handwriting everywhere.
A lot of communication. Little to take home.
People increasingly spend their money on experiences, not on things. They want to feel what a brand stands for, and take something with them that they want to share. We develop appearances people want to be part of.
New audiences. Old roots.
The loyal regulars are getting older. Younger people tick differently. Winning young people without losing the current audience is a challenge. We open brands forward, without cutting their roots.
Our process
What's the context? At the start of every process is the engagement with you, your vision and your world. With that vision in sight we set our focus and begin to find answers, based on an idea, to the challenges of your project. As individual as you are.
Capabilities
fjnland is a home for thoughtful communication. Our aim is to make brands more believable, and more real to experience, from the big picture down to the smallest detail. Together with our clients we work for a better tomorrow, so something lasting remains.
Brand Strategy
Consistency comes from clarity. Together we work out the ground a brand can stand on. With a clear hold on values, vision and position, decisions get easier, communication hits, and the brand is recognisable as itself. Strategy isn't the point. It's the foundation.
Brand Design
Strategy needs a face that speaks the character. Design isn't decoration. It's values, made visible. Type, colour, space, rhythm. An identity that tells the character, and can be trusted.
Brand Communication
What a brand says, on which channel, in which form, decides how it's seen. We don't split communication into leftover touchpoints. We build one world, across campaigns, publications and social.
Brand Experiences
How something looks builds trust, and gives the story a visible voice. A shop or an app is never decoration. It's often the first time someone meets the brand. We design those meetings so they fit.
How we work together
Communication is only good if it's understood. That also holds for the tools of how we work together. As a client you get access to your own dashboard. Chat, mail, calendar, files, links. All of it in one place, so we're always one click away.

Common questions
Is brand work worth it when the market is shrinking or uncertain?
In uncertain times every investment feels riskier, and brand work is often first on the cut list. That's the wrong thought. In a growing market, demand forgives a lot. In a shrinking one it doesn't. The decision gets harder, and it falls for the brands that mean something. Who invests in clarity and character now secures the place that remains when others disappear. That holds for the brewery on a full shelf as much as for the region competing for guests.
How does a region or a destination stand apart from others?
Most places advertise first with their most beautiful view. Unfortunately they all sound the same in the end, because the neighbouring region almost always has a view just as beautiful. What decides is a clear idea of what this place stands for, and for whom. A destination today is a brand. It competes for attention, for an audience, for a place in the head. Together we work out what makes the place unmistakable, and translate that into an appearance that actually speaks to a specific generation, instead of trying to please everyone.
What sets a brand for tourism and enjoyment apart from other industries?
Many try to score here with the same arguments as every other industry. Function, price, use. That falls short, because this brand doesn't sell a use. It sells a moment. Where others argue with numbers, this is about anticipation, belonging, the promise of a good time. People today prefer to spend their money on experiences than on things, and they want to share what they lived. That asks for design that carries the sensory, and makes something people want to be part of.
How do we reach younger audiences without betraying where we come from?
The worry is easy to follow. Who adapts to younger audiences quickly feels they have to bend. The answer usually sits in your origin itself. It's the strength we work out together and translate into a new time, not the obstacle you have to hide. Younger people buy and travel by values. Authenticity, regionality, stance speak to them more than any attempt to court them. It isn't about seeming younger. It's about telling what's yours so a new generation hears it. Who knows what they stand for doesn't have to bend to seem new.
How important is social media really for our brand?
We often hear this with a slight sigh behind it, usually because social media feels like a barrel without a bottom. The honest answer: more important than many would like. For a whole generation the journey starts while scrolling, and what doesn't happen there doesn't even enter the head. That doesn't mean chasing every trend. It means having a brand that works in the feed. Recognisable, shareable, with imagery that works without explanation. We think the brand from the start so it also holds on a small screen.
