01 Context

A good building doesn't start with the form. It starts with the ground it stands on. That's how Tobias Ruppert works, who set up ToB.Studio in Würzburg in 2021. His approach is contextual: not pushing a predefined style, but finding what the existing place can do, and answering from there. A clear point of view, carried with a loose, unpretentious manner. What the young studio lacked was an identity that carried exactly that. The brief: give that way of working a face of its own, without pressing it into a template that contradicts it.

02 Method

Architecture is only as good as the ground it stands on. We made that the principle of the design. Type and colour without flourish give the content room, instead of standing in front of it. Plenty of white space and greys form a quiet ground. Project-specific forms give it depth. Then neon, drawn from masking tape in the studio: an accent that sits exactly where it gets interesting, and brings Tobias's looser side into the picture. Straight type holds it together. So the design itself becomes a translation of how he works: held back where it should serve, clear where there's something to show.

03 Result

From that principle came a full identity. We developed the corporate design, designed and built the website, and designed the stationery, from letterhead to business card. Across every format, the same logic: precise and held back, with accents only where they earn it. ToB.Studio now has a face that makes Ruppert's contextual, unpretentious way of working visible, without smoothing it. An identity that isn't louder than the architecture behind it. It comes from the same thought.
