Lead-Phase

Every project begins with a first contact. How we respond to that moment decides more than we often realise, about the tone of the collaboration, about expectations, sometimes about the whole project. The Lead phase is therefore not a formality. It is the first impression we only get to make once.

Fast, but not rushed.

We answer an enquiry promptly. Ideally the same working day, at the latest the next. Not because speed is everything, but because a late answer signals that the other person does not matter to us. The first response runs through our Onramp mail: a short, warm reply that takes up the contact, gathers the most important open points and shows a clear next step, including always the offer of a no-obligation first conversation.

Understand before we judge.

Before we think about an offer, we need a picture: What is it about? Who is the person, who is the brand behind them? Which problem is to be solved, and why now? Often the first enquiry only holds half of it. Our job is to make the other half visible with the right questions.

The first conversation is our investment upfront.

If an enquiry sounds interesting in principle, we offer a first conversation. Proactively, free, without an agenda. 30-60 minutes. No pitch, no offer, no pressure. We want to understand whether we are the right ones for each other: professionally, personally and in terms of standard. Good collaboration does not begin with a contract, but with a real conversation, and that is what we invest here. Link: https://fjn.land/hej

Does this fit us?

Not every enquiry becomes a project. And that is a good thing. “Stay humble” also means for us: honestly judging whether we are the right ones. Professionally, in timing, in values. A lead that does not fit costs us more later than a friendly no at the start. This judgement is a conscious decision, not a gut feeling in passing, and at best it is carried by the team, not taken on quietly by one person.

NDA, if needed, clarify early.

Some clients want a non-disclosure agreement. We clarify that at the beginning, not in the middle. Important: we make sure we may show the project after it is done. Our portfolio is our strongest argument, and an NDA that is too tight takes exactly that from us.

If we say yes, it continues into the Planning phase. There the first understanding becomes a briefing that can carry weight.
