01 Context

Manuel built the Kürnach metal manufactory from the ground up himself. As a young self-employed craftsman, the focus is on his own work. There is no time left for a brand identity that has to be completely rethought with every new application. The requirement was therefore twofold and, at first glance, contradictory. The new appearance had to look professional and recognizable, and at the same time work so easily in everyday life that an owner without a design department could maintain it himself. Not a business with a marketing team. Rather, a single person who gets their jobs done and keeps their own brand running on the side.

02 Method

Lean was not a compromise here. It was the concept. We built a corporate design from a few, sharp building blocks that one person can master. At the centre is the acronym MMK: a striking typographic wordmark that brings the business to the essential and gives it a clear, self-assured contour. The form language comes from the workshop itself. From profiles, constructions, and cleanly worked edges. The colour translates what happens there every day: the red-orange of glowing steel, the contrast of cool metal surfaces, a nod to the local coat of arms. From that came a focused palette that assigns every application clearly to the brand.

03 Result

Since 2025 the identity carries across six fields of use: vehicles, stationery, signage, workwear, flyers and promotional items. From the van to the jacket, the same system. And because it's built lean on purpose, the owner designs quotes or signage himself, without starting from zero every time. We delivered the corporate design with wordmark, colour and form system, and the full stationery. What becomes visible is what has long held in the workshop: precision and a standard. The change of generation got a face that fits the quality of the work. And that gets worn after hours too.
